Sagittarius is the last sign of the element Fire. It is the maximum expression of this element. Therefore, impulses and destructive power are at their peak. On the other hand, Sagittarius is connected to the spiritual side of the personality. It is the 9^th sign of the Zodiac. The 9^th Astrological House is the one of the ethical studies, the law, the spiritual growth.

Sagittarius is depicted by Sepher Yetzirah in this way: “He made the letter Samekh king over sleep, and He bound a crown to it, and He combined one with another, and with them He formed Sagittarius in the Universe, Kislev in the Year, and the lower stomach in the Soul male and female.”

Sagittarius is represented by the Hebrew letter ס. Samekh is the only circular letter of the Alef-Beit, the Hebrew Alphabet.

Traditionally, ס is linked to the blessing. In fact, the famous priestly blessing of the Book of Numbers 6:24~27, in the Hebrew version (Bamidbar במדבר), is made of 15 words (Samekh is the 15^th letter of Alef-Beit) and 60 letters (60 is the numerical value of Samekh). If you pay attention to the 3 levels of Sagittarius, you may notice that the highest level is the High Priest.
