Meet the Leviathan

Pisces is the end of the cycle. It is the last sign of the Zodiac, the last sign of the element Water. Pisces is the maximum expression of this element. The energy of the Zodiac exhausts in Pisces and the Water becomes very deep, a never ending well.

Sensibility is Pisces most typical trait. It is an exalted sensibility, so high that may bring Pisces to lose itself in the others. Pisces’ capacity of feeling  the others is the main cause of its non-linearity.

Sepher Yetzirah describes Pisces in this way “He made the letter Quf king over laughter, and He bound a crown to it, and He combined one with another, and with them He formed Pisces in the Universe, Adar in the Year, and the spleen in the Soul male and female.”

The Hebrew letter that corresponds to Pisces is ק. Quf is the only letter of the Hebrew Alphabet which goes under the lines, deep down. It is the opposite of the Lamed of Libra. Quf is the will to go down to the evil, the confrontation with the dark. This is the main reason why a Pisces’ depression brings him down to the bottom, the deep bottom. Scorpio‘s fall in the dark is involuntary. Pisces goes down deliberately.

Kabbalah says that after the fall, after the encounter with the Leviathan, the biblical sea monster (Job 41:1~34), Pisces may get back. This return is called Teshuvà (תשובה), and if Pisces is able to return, it becomes the Ba’al Teshuvà that we have seen in Scorpio.
