22 Primeval Vibrations

The Hebrew Alphabet is composed by 22 letters. Each one of them hides secret meanings. Each letter has an unique numerical value that is the door to Gematria, the system which assigns a value to words or phrases.

The Alef-Beit, the Hebrew Alphabet

The 22 letters are also the 22 paths that connect the 10 Sephiroth of the Tree of Life as seen here. I have already explained that in Kabbalah everything expresses itself in 3 levels. Alef-Beit follows the same rule.

Therefore, the letters are divided in 3 groups:

  1. the 3 mother letters, the Awareness: Alef, Mem and Shin
  2. the 7 double letters, the Space: Beit, Ghimel, Dalet, Khaf, Peh, Resh, Tav
  3. the 12 simple letters, the Time: Hey, Vav, Zain, Cheit, Tet, Yud, Lamed, Nun, Samekh, ‘Ain, Tzadde, Quf

Furthermore, in order to fully understand each letter of the Alef-Beit (or Aleph Bet) you have to go through 3 different levels: the Shape, the Sound and the Number.
